Here Are The Methods To Discontinue Spotify Premium

Photo Credit: MakeUseOf There's a reason why Spotify is the most widely used music and podcast streaming service in the world. It boasts a library of over 100 million songs, a fun and simple user interface, and tons of features for sharing, playlist-making, and music discovery. Even though it lacks higher resolution audio like many of its rivals, like Apple Music, Tidal, and Amazon Music, this service's fundamental flaw is offset by the fact that its Premium levels are reasonably priced at between $10 and $16 per month. Why then would someone want to stop using Spotify? You might want to change and give something fresh a go. Perhaps you signed up for a free trial of Spotify and want to get rid of it before it renews. Or perhaps you just want to try Spotify Free for a little while to save some money. But before you do that, be aware that switching to Spotify Free will prevent you from downloading music for offline use. When utilizing a mobile device, you also won't be able to stream audio at a higher bit rate or play any songs on demand; instead, you'll have to shuffle playback of an artist, album, or playlist. But if you're determined to stop using Spotify Premium, here's how. How to cancel Spotify subscriptions on iPhone and more - 9to5Mac Photo Credit: 9to5Mac

Discontinuing Spotify Premium

  • Open your preferred browser and navigate to spotify.com/account, which should open automatically in the Account Overview section of Spotify's website. This is the first thing you'll want to do.
  • Accessing your Account settings from the drop-down menu will also open a browser window and take you to the same location if you are using the Spotify desktop client. However, using the smartphone app is not an option for this.
  • Currently seeing your Account overview screen, click Available plans in the left-hand column. The details of your current membership and other available options will then appear in a box.
  • Find the Spotify Free option at the bottom of the page by scrolling down. It's all the way down there. The large Cancel Premium button is located underneath it.
  • At this point, you just need to tap Continue to cancel and go through the confirmations to finalize your choice. Once more, keep in mind that your subscription won't end right away. You may continue to use it until the expiration date of your paid subscription.
  • Take note that canceling your Spotify account on an Android device is done using the device's web browser, just like it is on a desktop.
Also Read: Spotify is discontinuing its independent live audio app.   You may continue using Premium after it has been canceled through the deadline for your subsequent payment. This implies that even though your subscription isn't due to renew until October 2, even if you informed Spotify that you wanted to cancel on September 3 that day, you can still use it up until that time because you already paid for the initial month. Even if you cancel before the renewal date and don't plan to use Spotify in the meantime, it is not possible to get a refund from Spotify. If you're intending to do that, you may now also delete your Spotify account.
