McDonald's First Adult Happy Meal Toys Are Horrible

McDonald's has announced that adults can reconnect with their inner child by opening up a Happy Meal and discovering a toy of their own. Yes, Happy Meal toys for adults will be available, at least for a limited time. According to a promotional page for McDonald's, the new Happy Meal is a collaboration with Cactus Plant Flea Market, a fashion streetwear company. Adults who order a Cactus Plant Flea Market Meal Box will earn either cartoony figures of McDonald's mascots Grimace, the Hamburglar, or Birdie, or one of a CPFM original character, Cactus Buddy. The promotion will run throughout October. McDonald's First Adult Happy Meal Toys This information came from a cryptic Facebook post by McDonald's, which stated, "one day you ordered a Happy Meal for the last time and you didn't even realize it." I'm not sure if the McDonald's social media representative intended for people to interpret this as a threat, but the fact that it simply left the message at that was concerning. McDonald's was getting existential about the longevity of one's inner child, rather than the fragility of the human body. Also foreboding, but I suppose suitable for marketing purposes. When viewed positively, the promotion may actually benefit children by providing a respite from the soul-crushing disappointment of grown-ups buying up all the stock of kids-promoted toys. Customers were supposed to receive a Pokémon spinner toy, a cardboard Pikachu coin, and a pack of four holographic trading cards as part of the McDonald's Pokémon Happy Meal promotion last month. Instead, many people received leftover Space Jam 2 toys after a group of scalpers bulk-purchased McDonald's pocket monster cards. Birdie, The Hamburglar, and Grimace, the original mascots, appear unappealing. Their use is neither intended nor recommended for young children. Let's just hope that on October 3rd, no one makes a fool of themselves like they did during the Rick and Morty Szechuan sauce fiasco. Visitors to the clown delicatessen should not be concerned, given how hideous these things are.
