New features for the Spotify widget and speech-to-text support for the OPPO Find N2 Flip cover display

Photo Credit: 9to5Google The Find N2 Flip, OPPO's 'global' foldable smartphone, is now eligible for a new software update that is predicted to improve the experience of using its secondary (or "cover") screen somewhat. It entails the installation of a feature that turns speech into messages on applications like WhatsApp and the capability to (partially) control Spotify. With the exception of the Find N2 Flip, which has already made its way to markets like India, Mexico, and most recently the United Arab Emirates, OPPO has not yet released its well-specified line of foldable smartphones outside of China. Photo Credit: Times Of India The clamshell-shaped smartphone has fans because despite being small, it boasts high-end internals like the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. If it has received any major UX criticism, it has been that the cover display may not be as effective as it may be at reducing needless phone-opening gestures. With the most recent version of ColorOS 13 for the Find N2 Flip, which includes the option of "voice-to-text replies" for the cover display, OPPO has made further progress on this problem. It has a rating for how well it works with programs like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Google Messages. Even though it can currently just hold buttons for play/pause, skip, and heart along with album art, the ostensibly "long-awaited" functionality does permit the operation of the app while the device is still closed.
