New features of Linux Mint 21.1 "Vera" are now in beta

Version 21 of Linux Mint, one of the most well-known desktop Linux distributions available, was launched early this year. A small release, the upcoming update, is currently accessible for beta testing. With an Ubuntu 22.04 core platform and extensive updates to all the desktop environment settings, Linux Mint 21 was a significant update. The smaller-scale upgrade known as Linux Mint 21.1, sometimes known as "Vera," is based on the same Ubuntu release. Additionally, the system requirements—2 GB of RAM (4 GB suggested), 20 GB of disk space (100 GB recommended), and a screen resolution of at least 1024768 resolution—have not altered. This release's inclusion of Cinnamon 5.6 is the primary upgrade, at least for the desktop Cinnamon version. When used, a new Corner Bar applet in the panel hides all windows and displays the desktop, acting similarly to the desktop button in Windows 7 and Windows 10 taskbars. Additionally, the folder icons are now yellow rather than green, and the default colors have been modified to be more bright. The new system sounds that were adapted from Google's Material Design materials are the last addition. Since Linux Mint has always placed a strong emphasis on customisation, most of the design changes made in the 21.1 version can be undone if you'd rather have the previous appearance and feel. Cinnamon, MATE, and Xfce editions of Linux Mint 21.1 Beta are all available for download.
