Sony's Xperia 1V & Xperia 5V rumored smartphones launching with Bluetooth LE Audio & LC3

Bluetooth LE Audio may be supported or capable of being supported by some audio equipment, however no Android smartphones have this feature as of yet. The Xperia 1 V and Xperia 5 V are rumored to be the first smartphones to ship with Bluetooth LE Audio and Bluetooth LC3. The upcoming Xperia flagship models from Sony may be the first to debut with Bluetooth LE Audio integration, according to rumors. Android 13 technically comes with native support for Bluetooth LE Audio. Even the Pixel 7 series does not now feature the functionality, though. However, an update will allegedly include Bluetooth LE Audio functionality for the Xperia 1 IV and Xperia 5 IV. Photo Credit: TechAdvisor In essence, Bluetooth LE Audio would enable the Low Complexity Communications Codec (LC3), which has dynamic audio scaling similar to aptX Adaptive, to be used by the Xperia 1 V and Xperia 5 V. Theoretically, LC3 and BLE Audio use less power, have a longer range, and have lower latency than other common Bluetooth protocols. The apex technology is not always Bluetooth LE Audio. One lossy codec is Bluetooth LE Audio, for instance. Therefore, using Deezer HiFi or Tidal for music streaming would be inappropriate with Bluetooth LE Audio. Additionally, very few audio devices now support Bluetooth LE Audio. Currently, both OnePlus and Samsung claim that their respective Buds Pro 2 models will eventually support the technology. The WF-1000XM4 and the LinkBuds series are also devoid of Bluetooth LE Audio integration.
